Newcastle Based Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Hypnotherapist Catriona Davis – McCabe BSc (Hons), PGradDip, Cert.Couns, D.Hyp, MBACP, MNCH. Based in Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, Catriona is a fully qualified and experienced Counsellor / Psychotherapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist. Having gained her first degree, a BSc (Hons) Psychology from the University of Sunderland, she went on to complete a Certificate in Counselling from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Catriona studied at postgraduate level at the University of Teesside, gaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology. She then went on to work as a counsellor at this university. Catriona trained with ‘The Croft Academy' in Newton Aycliffe where she completed a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Catriona is a member of:
Catriona began her interest in counselling at her first degree in Psychology. She went on from this to specialise in counselling. Catriona trained in a number of approaches to counselling - Humanistic, Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). It was while Catriona was studying psychodynamic counselling that she became interested in hypnotherapy and its effectiveness with clients. She went on to complete further training in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Catriona has been working using counselling and hypnotherapy skills in a variety of settings. She has worked for a generic support service in Sunderland, a North East domestic violence refuge, a young persons' residential unit in Sunderland, a drug and alcohol service in Newcastle upon Tyne, HM Prisons throughout the North East of England, a local University and a private practice in Kingston Park. Catriona's belief is that the client's health and wellbeing are at the centre of therapy. Her approach is professional, relaxed and friendly. The Newcastle Therapy Clinic is located in Kingston Park, approximately six miles from Newcastle City Centre. Clients come from across the North East, Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Northumberland to the clinic.
